Open participation campaign

Help test IICP independently

Choose one bounded task, run it in an environment you control, and publish the result. You do not need to join the project or disclose task content, credentials, private infrastructure, or personal data.

Each lane fixes the implementation or document version, participant role, record format, validator, submission route, and claim boundary. The canonical campaign manifest currently contains six lanes, all awaiting an external participant.

Choose a validation lane

Clean-room directory

Implement the directory contract from the published specification and run the pinned conformance suite.

Participant
An implementation team outside the IICP repository family
Evidence class
Independent implementation and interoperability evidence

Newcomer validation

Follow the public material without project-team coaching and record where it is clear, incomplete, or misleading.

Participant
A non-technical reader, a developer, or a prospective node operator
Evidence class
External usability evidence

Open the task and acceptance criteria →

Linux and systemd operator

Exercise the opt-in native watchdog and service lifecycle under real operator conditions.

Participant
A representative Linux/systemd operator, preferably including ARM64
Evidence class
External operational evidence

Open the task and acceptance criteria →

Relay operator

Test the pre-normative relay eligibility contract and publish a signed, content-free result.

Participant
An independent relay operator with a representative network topology
Evidence class
External relay and topology evidence

Open the task and acceptance criteria →

Qualified EU review

Review the dated legal packet and return an attributable decision record and memorandum.

Participant
A qualified EU privacy and AI-law reviewer

How to participate

  1. Read the campaign guide and the tracker for your chosen lane.
  2. Use the fixed versions and record template named by that lane.
  3. Control the relevant implementation, environment, or professional review yourself.
  4. Run the supplied validator before publishing the completed record.
  5. Publish the privacy-safe result and link it on the lane's tracker.

What the campaign does—and does not—prove

A completed lane can provide

  • A version-pinned and reproducible result
  • A named evidence class and known test boundary
  • Evidence controlled by the stated outside participant
  • A public record that can be checked again

The campaign itself does not provide

  • A participant, consent, result, or external decision
  • Permission to deploy, publish, change defaults, or promote a profile
  • Independent evidence from a project-controlled run
  • A security, legal-compliance, uptime, or universal interoperability guarantee

Blank templates are preparation, not evidence. Project verification must be labelled as project verification, not independent validation.

Privacy and safe publication

Publish only the bounded fields required by the lane. Exclude prompts, responses, credentials, node tokens, private keys, private endpoints, internal topology, raw logs, and personal data. An anonymized role record is acceptable only where the lane explicitly permits it; qualified and governance decisions require attributable consent under their own contracts.
